2015 is Coming to a Close Soon
2015 was another difficult year for many, including us, but because of the extreme generosity of our donors our doors remained opened. There were weeks throughout the year that we were not certain if we would have enough food for distribution but as we were all thinking how we would manage our next distribution day, lo and behold someone would walk through our doors with food donations. In the month of November 2015, we served 298 families equating to 568 Adults and 348 children.Thank you we could not and cannot do it without YOU!
2015 will be coming to a close soon - and all of us at the Keyport Ministerium Food Pantry would like to express our deepest gratitude to ALL the individuals, churches, organizations and businesses for their great support throughout the year.
Turkey distribution - on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving we distributed over 200 turkeys. Distribution was scheduled for 9:30 AM but our clients were lined up at 8:30 to ensure that they would receive a turkey. We received a large number of turkeys from the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties but we were very grateful for the additional donations we received on that day as well. Check out the article in Community Magazine's Digital Edition (Pg 6). Natalie Smith is pictured accepting Thanksgiving food donation on behalf of KMFP from Air Trampoline.
Thank you to all the Donors, Sherry Hill (KMFP Associate Director), Maria Connors (KMFP Registrar) and all the KMFP volunteers that helped Sherry and Maria in the coordination of this effort. A special thanks also to representatives from the New Jersey Army National Guard and Air National Guard took some time out to help give out Thanksgiving dinner fixings. See article on the NJ.com web site.
The Christmas Gift Sponsorship - response for our client’s children was a great success. Due to the generosity of so many, 194 children have been sponsored this year. I would like to say Thank You to Maria Connors, KMFP Registrar for doing such a great job this year in coordinating the Christmas gifts for the children and to all the KMFP Volunteers that worked along with Maria. Thank You to all the individuals, churches, organizations and businesses that sponsored our client’s children and helped us in being able to put a smile on these children’s faces on Christmas Day.
Holiday and Regular Food Donations - are always welcomed. If you wish to make a donation please contact Sherry Hill, KMFP Associate Director - Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM on (732) 888-1986. Due to our limited freezer space if you would like to donate turkeys, hams, etc. we would ask that you please contact Sherry first.
