  Happy Independence Day!
Happy and Safe 4th of July - All of us at the KMFP hope you are enjoying your summer. Remember, Safety First during all your summer activities. This month’s message is short because during the summer months there is not too much going on but we want everyone to know that you are free to contact us should you have any specific questions, comments, etc.
School Sponsorship - St Johns United Methodist Church in Hazlet had a sponsorship available to be based on a lottery format for one (1) child for their Pre-School starting in September. We were able to give her five (5) names from our client families and they recently selected one of them. The family was interviewed and the little girl starts in September. The little girl was very excited and did not want to leave the classroom!
The Board would like to welcome our newest Trustee, Volunteer Natalie Smith.
Mayor Aumack, Cheif Fox, Ex. Dir. Cooper
Food DonationsHunger does not take a vacation and the KMFP continues to serve all of those in need that come through our doors. Unfortunately, food donations during the summer months are always low but we are so grateful to have so many ongoing and new donors that support us in so many ways. Please continue to remember us when you go shopping and if possible pick up a few canned or boxed items.
You can find a list of the items that we are always in need of on the How You Can Help section of our website. If you have specific questions about food donations please contact Associate Director Sherry Hill during our hours of operation.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – formerly known as the Food Stamp Program is of great assistance to many people who are struggling financially and need assistance in purchasing food. The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties personnel are available on a monthly basis to assist persons who would like to apply. Foodbank personnel are available in Keyport at the Community Church – Fellowship Hall (adjacent to the Food Pantry in the same building).
For further information contact the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties – (732) 918-2600 ext. 234. If you know of someone that needs assistance in applying please provide this information to them. Spanish speaking personnel available.
All of your donations, big or small, are truly appreciated we cannot do it without YOU!
